We’ve been poring over the newest rumors and leaks. Playing all of The Mamas and The Papas’ songs backward and forth, in order to obtain the most accurate image of what to expect from next Tuesday’s “California Streaming” event.
The invitations, which were sent out a week ahead of time, don’t appear to give anything away about the game. There was some interesting augmented reality (AR) trickery that you could access on your phone via Safari. Though augmented reality has become a bit of a standard on these invites. It might indicate to some subtle camera improvements.
The term California Streaming appears to be more of a tribute to the event’s all-virtual character than anything to do with, say, Apple TV (although we’ve been one-upped before). That gorgeous view of the Sierras might be a reference to macOS. Even though the business has moved to Monterey now. It might also be a reference to the above title.
The quickest, simplest, and most crucial answer is a new iPhone. COVID-19-related supply chain bottlenecking delayed last year’s models. While supply chain issues have continued, the firm looks to be back on pace with its pre-pandemic release calendar.
The iPhone 12’s greatest update was 5G, which was long overdue. That, plus the delay, resulted to some huge sales quarters for Apple amid a general slowdown in the mobile industry. Others have omitted the number due to myths. Apple is committed to the iPhone 13 (even as renderings of its successor, the iPhone 14, have leaked)
According to recent sources, the iPhone 13 will be available in four distinct variants. So: iPhone 13, Mini, Pro, and Pro Max. There should be no change to the screen sizes: 5.4, 6.1, and 6.7 inches. According to another rumor, the entire color palette will be black, white, blue, purple, pink (rather than green) and Product (Red). Remember that giving different color options in different markets isn’t out of the question.
Camera improvements look to be the top story here. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the Pro Max spec will be carried over to the balance of the range (including, potentially, lidar). ProRes video mode will be added after ProRAW to improve the handset’s status as a semi-pro video shooting gear. Cinematic Video, meantime, is supposed to give video a Portrait-like appearance. Kuo also claims the smartphones would receive a Qualcomm X60 ability that enables for emergency satellite calls, but only in limited areas.
Of course, the phone will also have Apple’s newest A15 chip and a 120 Hz ProMotion display. Apple may potentially add an always-on screen to the iPhone, ideally with less battery drain. We expect it to look similar to its predecessor. Smaller camera notch up front — but not as tiny as the phony Ted Lasso iPhone. The camera bulge on the rear is believed to be becoming bigger, maybe for a better telephoto lens.
Oh, and they’ll be more costly than the iPhone 12 – a new feature Apple is unlikely to publicly promote.
The Apple Watch 7, meanwhile, is another huge newsmaker. It is said that Apple’s wildly successful wearable will become even more popular with a bigger display and casing size, making it 41 mm and 45 mm instead of 40 mm and 44 mm. Though the dimensions of the new handset may vary greatly from the prior model. Reports claim that it will be notably smaller than the earlier model since it will have less edges.
Some exciting rumors circulating about the Apple Watch involve a sharp rise in battery life. Comparing it to the other smartwatches on the market, Apple had much advanced sleep monitoring facilities. And this presented a big challenge for the device. Most don’t expect big new health features for the Watch this year. It is surprising considering Apple’s commitment to health and fitness.
We think AirPods 3 will be a smart bet. The entry-level earphones that belong to the company’s current release are reported to be getting a Pro-style makeover. It also has an improved battery from a new chip. While there will be no new innovations in the form of active noise cancellation or changeable tips. The two versions are staying different from one another.
There are plenty more Macs in the pipeline, with the company’s silicon refresh now well underway. Allegedly, Apple has a new MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, and an iMac ARM variant that has a 27-inch screen.
